Golden Years in Hazel Green

I never knew this place was here and I've lived up the road for 20 years. Now that I do know though we will frequent it more often. I was affordable and we enjoyed our time outside eating ice cream. White chocolate raspberry is where it's at y'all! #tryit

Wonderful family stop. Not just ice cream, the food is wonderful, and the atmosphere is family friendly 1950's to 1980's. We love playing board games and pinball.

The food truck came to our neighborhood and me and the kids had sandwiches and hotdogs and ice cream and it was all AMAZING!! We have never eaten there before but we will be sure to start!! Great food and all quality ingredients!!

My favorite thing about this place is the decor and the activities. They offer board games and arcade games, so I want to come just to hang out! The burger was really juicy and my friend loved her hot dog (The Reuben). Everything is reasonably priced and we got to relax and enjoy a game of UNO while we were at it. Only good things to say about this place as the service was friendly as well!

I've been wanting to stop here since we moved to Hazel Green in March. So glad we finally stopped yesterday for an afternoon banana split. 36 flavors of ice cream to choose from! My mom and I couldn't even make a dent in the massive split they served us - but it was DELICIOUS!! The burgers and hot dogs all looked and smelled divine, too! Can't wait to go back next week for a meal and more sweet treats.

Great atmosphere! Ordered the Bama BBQ Burger it was great. Service was very slow.

Very disappointing service tonight. My ice cream was fine but the girls working were very unprofessional. Laughing and cutting up with each other the entire time we were trying to order. One girl even literally slung ice cream on the wall because it was on her finger. The same girl then proceeded to let us know that they were closing in 7 minutes but made sure we knew she meant it “in the nicest way”. By the way, the website says they close at 10 but they actually close at 9. Also, they charge $.60 for using your card but don’t let you know until you’ve already placed your order. Oh, and they were out of small cups so gave us a medium, but still charged us for the medium cup. Disappointed.

Although it's a simple menu (hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken fingers, etc) the food is good and the desserts are amazing. Put all of that in a fun atmosphere with prices that are hard to beat, and it's hard not to like this place.

One of the best family restaurants in the area. The food and ice cream are amazing but what makes it stand out is the atmosphere. From the retro decor to all the board games you can play at your table, Golden Years is a unique and amazing family experience. To top it off, the service is super friendly as well. We will definitely be back.

Had such a great experience at this neat little spot! The food was amazing but be sure to save room for dessert! I had the banana split and it was so good. My husband and I had a blast and played battleship while we waited on our food and enjoyed our dessert. They have lots of board games to play as well as fun arcade games like pacman and supermario. The workers were super nice and we will definitely be back. Keep an eye out for their food truck as well!

We had hamburgers and fries with a chocolate shake. Fantastic service. We love going here and playing the games.

My wife and I are locals and decided to give this place a try today. The only word that really comes to mind is just... weird. I can see they were going for the old timey look, but it's really just coming off as a run down look. The employees had a bunch of their friends hanging out in the store and in the parking lot which gave the place a really weird vibe. Noticed several times the cook running outside messing with his car and then coming back in and working without washing his hands. The young girl also seemed aggravated that she had to get off her phone to take our order. The food was mediocre, but not horrible. Ice cream definately had a freezer burn taste to it.

Food and environment were amazing. It is cooked to order so have some patience after ordering. Burgers are fire!!

I hate to complain because it's a really neat place, but when you have two kids working behind the counter and no other customers, 25 minutes is too long to wait on a hotdog. You wont get many repeating customers that way.

Amazing nostalgic family owned Ice Cream Parlor & Diner! They have everything from board games to classic retro arcade games. Service is always fast and friendly! The food and ice cream is delicious! You have to stop in and try everything!

Stopped by their food truck and had one of the best lunches OF MY LIFE. My Chicago dog was cooked perfectly and the meal as a whole was very filling. The two guys running the truck were very nice and my food came out fast. Same restaurant quality with the quickness of a food truck! Will be going back :)

The food was great and the staff was super helpful and friendly. They talked to us about the food, made recommendations and just gave great service all around. There were board games and video games to play as we waited. I had a Chicago dog, fries and a shake and it was delicious. I will definitely go back when I'm in the area again. There's several things on the menu I still want to try!

Great burgers,and ice cream, I always take my kids there as a treat for making good grades. Great place to kick back and relax.
